Fernando Castaneda, PA-C

Fernando joined the Physician Assistant Neurosurgical team at Frisco Spine led by Dr. Salinas in 2012. As the other physician assistant in the practice, Fernando has been a great addition to the team by providing a multidisciplinary approach in evaluating, diagnosing, managing, and treating brain and spine conditions.

Fernando received his masters in Physician Assistant studies from the University of Texas Pan-American in 2009 in Edinburg Texas. He subsequently joined a Neurotology practice in San Antonio where he practiced at the Ear Institute of Texas for 3 years before joining Frisco Spine. He has integrated his experience in vestibular disorders, imbalance, and skull-based tumors, into the focus of diagnosis and management of neurosurgical disorders.

Fernando is bilingual in Spanish, and he is always eager to take care of patients/clients who prefer speaking in Spanish by simplifying intricate medical terminology and neurosurgical conditions allowing patients to fully understand their ailment, treatment recommendations, and prognosis. Meeting patient’s expectations, and patient satisfaction and education are some of Fernando’s priorities.

He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and he is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
