WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR INITIAL VISIT

First off, thank you for choosing FRISCO SPINE.  Dr. Paul Salinas knows you have options, and we appreciate you choosing our practice.  Most often patients come to FRISCO SPINE expecting our physicians to perform a full physical exam and release a diagnosis.  However, our neurosurgeons DO perform neurosurgical consultations.  This means they rely on imaging, such as MRI, CT scans, x-ray’s etc, to properly diagnose exactly what is going on.  For example, the imaging will be able to show our neurosurgeons if a slipped disc, pinched nerve, or herniated disc is the root of your symptoms.  Additional testing may be required to properly pinpoint your issue.  Examples of these tests include, EMG’s, EEG’s, discograms, etc.  Our neurosurgeons do NOT do pain injections or medication management.  We will refer you to an appropriate specialist to provide those services to you.

** Please note, if you do not have any imaging or studies for our neurosurgeons to review, the initial consult will primarily consist of our mid-level writing all the proper orders needed to provide our physicians the items they need to properly diagnose and treat you.

PREPARATION

As this is your first time to visit our practice, we do require all patients to provide:

1. Identification (TX DL, ID, Passport)
2. Copy of their insurance card
3. Copy of their imaging disc (MRI, CT, X-rays)
4. Copy of their imaging report
5. New patient paperwork – 100% completed

The paperwork must be completed accurately before you can be seen by our providers. If you have had any previous surgeries, related to your current issue, additional records may be required.  Please make sure all medications and surgical history are as accurate as possible.
