Your first appointment
What to expect.
Your neurosurgical consultation includes a review of your symptoms and available imaging or studies. Additional tests may be ordered to help clarify the cause of your symptoms.
If imaging is not yet available, the first visit may focus on arranging the studies needed for the surgeon’s evaluation. Pain injections and medication management are provided through the appropriate specialists.
Allow time for your visit.
Emergency hospital consultations and time spent answering patients’ questions can affect the clinic schedule. If the office is more than 30 minutes behind, the team can discuss an estimated wait or rescheduling options.
Please bring
- Photo identification
- Your insurance card
- Bring imaging disk: MRI, CT, or X-rays
- Copies of imaging reports
- Completed new-patient paperwork
- Current medications and relevant surgical records
